(Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Osamu Hashimoto) will jointly hold an exhibition of environmentally friendly materials, "TRANSWOOD® with Prasus® Exhibition vol.01 - Future of Environmentally Friendly Materials -" at the "hide k 1896 Flagship Store" (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) from November 1, 2024 to January 31, 2025. The exhibition will be held from November 1, 2024 (Friday) to January 31, 2025 (Friday) at the "hide k 1896 flagship store" (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).
Various products and developments made of "TRANSWOOD® with Prasus®" as well as materials will be exhibited.

TRANSWOOD® with Prasus®.

All-bio composite material that can be recycled for 100 years
TRANSWOOD® is a brand of environmentally friendly materials designed by Hideyuki Kasuga (Ph.D., Engineering) based on the concept of "materials that can last for 100 years. TRANSWOOD® is a composite material made from wood-derived materials such as wood flour and cellulose microfiber (CMF) from thinned wood, and Prasus®, a mass-balanced biomass resin made from waste cooking oil and other materials, which reduces CO2 emissions during the manufacturing process and the amount of plastic used. Starting with the application to tableware for the environmentally conscious lifestyle brand "hide k 1896" in 2023, the application and development of Transwood are underway for a wide range of categories such as furniture, building materials, home appliance housings, and automobile interior parts.

Biomass resin with mass balance method that can reduce GHG emissions by 60%*
Prasus®, manufactured by Prime Polymer, a member of the Mitsui Chemicals Group, can reduce GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions by about 60% compared to petroleum-based resins. Traceability is assured through ISCC PLUS certification.
CO2 amount calculated from the amount of biomass-derived carbon allocated by the mass balance method as the amount of CO2 absorbed by the product.
