4. Details of the demonstration
As part of the initiatives of "Green Composite Hills by hide k 1896®," an industry-academia-government collaborative circular economy consortium led by hide kasuga 1896, Inc. The pen case (designed by Kengo Kuma), which is made of "TRANSWOOD® with Prasus®," an environmentally friendly material blended from wood flour and biomass plastic produced in Nagano City and used by students of Eastern Junior High School for one year, will be upcycled in stages into a product with new added value to foster awareness of a recycling-based society. After being installed as benches in the precincts of Zenkoji Temple for about one year, the plan is to upcycle them into art works.

Since its establishment in 2012, the "hide kasuga group" has been engaged in a full range of recycling-oriented business operations, from research and development to marketing, with the aim of building a circular economy. The Group operates environmentally friendly brands "BLANC BIJOU PARIS® (products)," "hide k 1896® (products)," and "TRANSWOOD® (materials)," and develops and sells highly recyclable materials and finished products.
In addition, we are the leader of "Green Composite Hills by hide k1896®," an industry-academia-government CE consortium, and are implementing social implementation of CE in cooperation with various organizations.
